Holder MOP held working meetings with businessmen from both countries under the Reconstruction Plan promoted by the government, to seek support allow lifting the areas devastated by the earthquake. On the occasion, accompanied by the Coordinating Committee Emergency Cristobal Lira, and the Coordinator of Reconstruction Committee, Marcelo Cox announced investment projects worth U.S. $ 21mil million for the country to regain its pre-earthquake condition. With a mission to promote and seek support for the work of rebuilding the country, Minister of Public Works, Hernán de Solminihac, developed an intense schedule during the first presidential trip abroad by the Head of State, Sebastián Piñera aimed at attracting foreign investment to the national reconstruction process.
The most significant activity of the minister as part of the trip, The exhibition was held to Argentine and Brazilian businessmen, inviting them to participate and invest in rebuilding the country through the various public projects and grantees to begin to tender in the field of infrastructure, health, education and housing.
De Solminihac began the presentation by a survey of major infrastructure areas affected by the earthquake of Feb. 27 and then detailed the scope of the Reconstruction Plan of the Government, which represents sectoral investments amounting to U.S. $ 21 billion.
On the occasion, the owner portfolio of Public Works announced the amount of investment by sector and reiterated the invitation to invest in Chile and participate in the recovery process after the disaster, with special emphasis on future projects beyond the earthquake.
